1999년 시작된 청주국제공예공모전은 새로운 담론을 만드는 작가의 도전정신을 바탕으로 삶의 다양한 장르를 아우를 수 있는 공예 그 이상의 가치를 모색합니다.
전 세계의 실험적이고 창의적인 공예 작품과 작가를 발굴하는 청주국제공예공모전은 현재까지 11회 진행했으며, 공모전 기간 동안 금속, 도자, 나무, 섬유, 유리 외 다양한 장르의 1,700여 점 이상의 작품을 선보여왔습니다.
청주국제공예공모전은 공예가들의 창작을 지원하고, 동시대 공예의 다양성과 참신성을 대중에게 선보이는 것을 목표로, 공모전을 통해 세계적인 공예작가 발굴과 그들의 작품 활동을 지속해서 지원할 것입니다.

The Cheongju International Craft Competition(hereinafter CICC), which began 1999, seeks values that are not bound by the limitations of crafts through artists who create new discourse based on a spirit of challenge.
The CICC which has thus far sought to discover experimental and creative craftworks and artists through the world, has been held eleven times to date. Throughtout the CICC, more than 1,700 works from all over the world in diverse media including metal, ceramic, wood, textiles, and glass have been recognized with awards. The CICC encourages the creative desire of the artists in craft fields, and aims to showcase the diversity and novelty of contemporary crafts to the public. The Cheongju Craft Biennale Organizing Committee will continue to support the discovery of global artists and their creative activities.
