- 수상자 전원 상장 수여, 2027 비엔날레 전시 및 도록 제작
- 대상부터 동상까지의 시상금은 '상금 및 작품 매입비'가 포함된 금액으로, 해당 수상작의 소유권은 조직위로 귀속되며, 작가가 작품 회수를 희망할 경우 시상금 수령을 포기하여야 함
- 단, 출품작의 가치가 시상금을 초과한다는 사유로 인한 별도의 보상은 요구할 수 없음
- 조직위는 전시 및 도록을 위한 입상작품의 연출, 사진, 녹화, 상영, 출판 등에 대한 저작권을 가짐
- 인기상은 전시 기간 내 관람객 대상 투표를 통해 선정
- 파트너상은 2027 비엔날레 파트너 기업과의 협의를 통해 선정
- 팀(공동인) 수상 시, 시상금은 대표자 1인의 계좌로 전액 지급되며 조직위는 배분 문제에 관여하지 않음
※ 모든 시상금은 대한민국 세법에 따른 원천징수 세액을 공제한 후 지급되며, 해외 작가의 경우 해당 국가와의 조세조약에 의거함
7) 제출서류
- ① 출품작품 이미지
- 사이즈 2048 x 1152 pixel 이상, JPG 또는 JPEG 형식
- 총 6매 제출 (대표사진 1, 정면 1, 디테일 사진 1, 실물 비교사진 1, 다각도 촬영사진 2)
- 실물 비교사진은 신체의 일부와 함께 촬영하여 작품의 크기를 확인할 수 있도록 함
- 각 사진은 흰색 혹은 회색 배경에서 촬영된 사진이어야 함
- 1m*1m*1m 이하의 작품은 손 또는 상반신과 함께 촬영한 사진 제출 권장
- 1m*1m*1m 이상의 작품은 전신과 함께 촬영한 사진 제출 권장
- 작가 본인 얼굴은 노출하지 않음
- ② 작가노트(출품작 설명) 국문 2,000 byte(국문 약 1천자) 이내
- 디지털 기술(3D 프린팅, CNC 등) 및 외주 가공 비중이 있을 경우 그 프로세스를 명확히 기재해야 함
- ③ 작가(팀) 프로필 (온라인 접수 시 양식 제공)
- ④ 작품 전시 계획서 (온라인 접수 시 양식 제공)
- 작품 소재의 특성에 따른 보관, 관리 및 핸들링 매뉴얼 작성 필수
- ⑤ 포트폴리오 (최근 3년간 활동했던 작품으로 구성)
- 자신의 작품 10점 이상으로 구성
- 사진 파일은 가로 300pixel 이상, 사진 및 작가노트 포함하여 PDF 파일 1개로 병합하여 제출
- (선택) 다각도에서 촬영한 1분 이내 유튜브 영상 링크 첨부 가능 (영상 파일 직접 제출은 불가)
- ⑥ 개인 정보 제공 동의서 (온라인 접수 시 동의 구함)
- ⑦ (2차 실물 접수 시) 작품 상태 보고서, 작품 보험 가입서 제출
* 양식은 1차 심사 합격자 대상으로 E-mail을 통해 배포
8) 유의사항
- ① 공모 작품가격 제한 : 10,000 달러(한화 약 1천5백만원) 이하
- 해외 운송 시 세관신고, 보험가입 등의 사유로 1만 달러 이하의 작품 접수 권장
- 작품가에 따른 작품 접수·반환 시 세관 관련 문제가 발생할 경우 조직위는 책임지지 않음
* 해외 운송 작품의 경우 실물 작품 접수 시 세관신고서 및 인보이스 제출
- 작가가 직접 방문·접수하는 작품의 경우도 제출 필요
- 관련 서류가 없을 시 통관수수료 및 운송료 등의 비용이 추가 발생할 수 있으며, 이는 작가 부담임
- ② 실물 작품 접수 시 운송 및 보험, 포장 비용은 작가가 책임하여 부담
- 미술품 전문운송사를 통해 운송해야 하며, 전문운송사를 통하지 않아 발생하는 통관 수수료 등은 작가가 부담해야 함
- 2차 실물 접수 시, 작가가 지정 접수처로 작품을 인도하기 전(운송 과정)에 발생한 훼손, 파손, 분실에 대해서는 조직위원회가 일체 책임을 지지 않음
- 전시장 도착 이후의 보관 및 관리는 제출된 매뉴얼에 의거하여 진행되나, 불가항력적인 천재지변 및 작가가 제출한 매뉴얼의 미비·오류로 인한 변형·파손에 대해서는 조직위가 면책됨
- ③ 접수 이후 시상식 및 전시를 포함한 작품 반출에 대한 비용 및 운송, 보험, 포장은 비엔날레 조직위에서 책임하여 부담
- ④ 작품 보관 및 이동 시 파손·변형의 위험이 높은 작품은 접수 시 작품 포장 및 핸들링 매뉴얼 동봉 필수
- 포장, 매뉴얼 동봉 등이 미비하거나 이행되지 않았을 경우 비엔날레 조직위 측은 파손 및 변형된 작품에 대한 책임지지 않음
- ⑤ 타 공모전 입상 또는 타 작품을 모방한 작품을 제출한 경우 실격처리 되며, 청주공예비엔날레와 관련한 모든 행사 참여 영구 불가능
- ⑥ 수상 이후 위반 사실(표절, 모방, 타 공모전 중복 수상 등)이 확인될 경우 수상을 취소하고 상장과 시상금 전액을 즉시 환수하며, 이로 인해 조직위에 발생한 손해에 대해 배상을 청구할 수 있음
- 단, 타 공모전에서 수상 이력이 없는 낙선작 및 단순 전시 출품작은 접수 가능
- 본 공모전에 접수한 작품은 심사 기간 중 타 공모전에 동시 출품할 수 없음
- ⑦ 접수된 서류는 반환하지 않음

1) Overview
Calling for craft artworks reflecting trends in contemporary arts and crafts and conveying the values of the future.
2) Entry fields and qualifications
- Individuals aged 18 or older, or teams composed of such individuals, are welcome to participate. No nationality restrictions apply.
- Works of any craft genre are welcome (no restrictions on subject, medium, or technique).
- The submitted work or works must not exceed 150 cm (W) × 150 cm (D) × 150 cm (H).
※ Works from a series may be submitted so long as they do not exceed the size limit.
- Each applicant may submit up to two works in total: one individual entry and one team entry.
- Submitted works must have been created within the three years prior to the submission date (i.e., between 2025 and 2027).

- All winners will receive a certificate, and their works will be exhibited at the 2027 Cheongju Craft Biennale and included in the exhibition catalog.
- The prize money awarded for the Grand, Gold, Silver, and Bronze Prizes includes both the cash prize and the artwork acquisition cost. Ownership of the awarded works will be transferred to the Organizing Committee. If an artist requests the return of their submitted artwork, the prize money will not be paid.
- No additional compensation may be requested on the grounds that the value of the submitted work exceeds the awarded prize money.
- The Organizing Committee retains the copyright for space production, photography, recording, screening, publishing, etc. of the winning works for the exhibition and catalog.
- The Citizens’ Choice award will be selected based on viewers’ votes during the exhibition period.
- The Partner Award will be selected and purchased at the price the artist(s) suggest, or after consultation with the relevant partner companies.
- In the case of a winning team entry, the full amount of the prize money will be paid to the account of one designated representative. The Organizing Committee shall not be involved in the distribution of these funds among team members.
※ All prize money will be paid after the deduction of relevant withholding taxes in accordance with the tax laws of the Republic of Korea.
For international artists, any applicable tax treaty between Korea and the country concerned will apply.
7) Required materials for entry
- ① Images of the submitted work
- Photos should be a minimum resolution of 2048 × 1152 pixels in JPE or JPEG format.
- Total 6 images (one image that best represents the work, one front shot, one close-up shot, one comparison shot to indicate size, two shots from different angles, etc.)
- A part of the body should be included with the artwork in the comparison photo to give a general idea of the size of the work.
- Each photo should be taken against a white or gray background.
- Including a person’s hand or upper body is recommended for works measuring 1 m × 1 m × 1 m or smaller.
- Please submit photos taken with a person’s entire body for works measuring larger than 1 m × 1 m × 1 m.
- The artist's face must not be visible.
- ② Artist’s statement (describing the submitted work) of less than 500 words in English
- If digital technologies (for example, 3D printing or CNC machining) or outsourced fabrication were used in the production of the work, the relevant processes must be clearly described.
- ③ Artist profile (individual or team) (use the official forms provided for online submission)
- ④ Exhibition plan (use the official forms provided for online submission)
- A storage, maintenance, and handling manual reflecting the specific characteristics of materials used in the work must be provided.
- ⑤ Portfolio (consisting of works from the last 3 years)
- The portfolio should include at least 10 of the artist’s original works.
- Photos should be a minimum resolution of 300 × 300 pixels and should be submitted as part of a single PDF file that also includes artist’s statements.
- (Optional) A hyperlink to a YouTube video filmed from different angles and lasting no longer than 1 minute may be included (video files will not be accepted).
- ⑥ Consent form for the collection and use of personal information (consent will be requested during the online submission process).
- ⑦ (For the second stage only) Report describing the state of the work and insurance papers covering the work
* Forms will be sent individually via email to entrants who pass the first stage.
8) Please note
- ① The price of a submitted work should be USD 10,000 (KRW 15 million) or less.
- For works shipped to Korea from abroad, a value of USD 10,000 or less is recommended due to customs declaration and insurance requirements.
- The Organizing Committee will not be responsible for any customs-related issues that may arise during the submission or return of a work due to its declared value.
- For works shipped to Korea from abroad, a customs declaration form and invoice must be submitted when the physical work is delivered.
- These documents must also be submitted for works delivered in person by the artist.
- Failure to provide the required documents may result in additional costs, including customs clearance and shipping fees. Any such costs shall be borne by the artist.
- ② All costs incurred due to the submission of the physical work, including postal or courier fees, insurance charges, packaging,
and other extra charges, shall be borne by the artist, whether domestic or international.
- For second-stage submission of physical artworks, the Organizing Committee is not responsible for any damage, breakage, or loss occurring prior to the artwork’s delivery to the designated receiving location, including incidents during transportation.
- After the work arrives at the exhibition venue, it will be stored and managed in accordance with the submitted manual. However, the Organizing Committee shall not be held liable for any deformation or damage caused by force majeure, including natural disasters, or damage attributable to deficiencies or errors in the manual submitted by the artist.
- ③ The Organizing Committee shall be responsible for expenses for the transportation of works for awards ceremonies, exhibitions,
and other reasons as well as associated deliveries, insurance, and packaging after the actual works are received for second-stage judging.
- ④ Works at high risk of damage or deformation during storage and transportation shall be submitted together with packaging
and handling instructions at their receipt.
- The Organizing Committee is not responsible for damaged or deformed artworks if the packaging and accompanying instructions have not been included or are insufficient.
- ⑤ Works which have won an award in another competition or those that have plagiarized other work(s) shall be disqualified.
Entrants who submit such pieces shall be permanently banned from all future events related to the Cheongju Craft Biennale.
- ⑥ If any violation, such as plagiarism, imitation, or the same work having received an award in another competition,
is discovered after an award has been granted, the award will be revoked, and the winner must immediately return the award certificate
and the full amount of the prize money. The Organizing Committee may also seek compensation for any losses incurred as a result.
- However, works previously entered in other competitions but not awarded, as well as works previously submitted solely for exhibition, are eligible for submission.
- Works submitted to this competition may not be simultaneously entered in any other competition during the judging period.
- ⑦ Submitted documents will not be returned.
